The Factory is a clone of a well known boutique fuzz pedal. It is basically an extended germanium fuzz. You can create classic sounds as well as some very unusual sounds.
This kit contains all parts you need to build a fully functional effect pedal. Also very useful:
Not included in the kit, but also good to have:
- Aluminium enclosure: select one further down (enclosure is not drilled)
- 9V battery or DC power supply
- 5 nice knobs for the pots
- Decal, transfer or transparent sheets for labeling
Schematic and pcb: The Factory Schematic and pcb Layout.

A very nice clone at killer price ! Almost all the qualities (and drawbacks) of the original pedal are preserved. I experimented other configurations that also sound very nice, for example put an AC176 germanium transistor in Q1 will give an even more creamy tone. You can also increase capacitance values of C1, C2 and C4 to get more mids and low end. As usual, Musikding kits are easy to build, but this one, given the number of wires to solder, requires more patience.

A few points : - This is my first DIY kit, and I am very happy with it, it was a real pleasure to build (even though it took me 6+ hours to complete it). The instructions are very clear, even for a non-native english speaker as myself :) - Just in case you don't know, some capacitors are polarized. It took me a while to figure it out, but as soon as i found out, wasn't a problem anymore. - The enclosure is quite small, actually, especially if, like me, you'd rather have the footswitch in center of the box. However, it seems to be no risk of short circuit whatsoever, even if the whole stuff is compressed in the enclosure. - The sound is absolutely mind blowing, very close to the original, with even a larger amplitude with the potentiometers, and an incredible range of Fuzz sounds, from the classic, soft fuzz to the big, compressed, 8-bits-like whining. But don't be afraid to spend a few hours trying to cover the possibilities of this hardware ! A big Thanks to the Musikding Team for this amazing pedal ! Cheers from France.

I'm not new to soldering and electronics in general but this was my first guitar effect pedal kit build, and i can say that it was a breeze to build. Also the instructions were very clear, especially the 3pdt wiring, which i now completely understand. I did make one mistake with the battery wire, baffled me for a short time until i figured it out :) Anyway many thanks Musikding for great affordable kits.

That's a good pedal, very unique :) But I was surprised it has a negative ground. I wanted to mount it with the Bender MK2 in the same enclosure but it didn't work. The bender has a positive ground, I knew it, but I was thinking the factory would have it as well. Anyway now everything works fine

Easy to build and sounds great. Built it for a friend who loves it. Three are slight differences compared to the original, but it's just a matter of knob settings. You can always dial in the sounds referred to in demos and reviews. And as always, excellent customer service at Musikding.
