Review:
Easy build from the arrival. Everything is well labelled and very well documented in the build manual, apart from one dry solder joint (my mistake) it worked perfectly, and after a couple of weeks I have no complaints about reliability. Sound wise, does was it is meant to. I personally find the amp is very sensitive to the choice of speaker, and finding the right combination may take you some time, not everybody has the choice that I have, being a collector of cabinets. I settled on a pair of early '80s vintage Celestion G12 65s in an open back cabinet and the amp sings. I'd like a little more gain on the overdrive channel, but a few modifications to the amp will probably take care of that, and the tone controls will seem a little undefined to the modern amp user but with time the character of the amp will win anybody over.
This is not the first project I have undertaken, but I see no reason why anybody with the ability to solder will not be able to build this amp, even with no knowledge of how valve amplifiers work. I take my hat off to both Martin and Klaus for providing me with this amplifier.
