D and S are INTERCHANGEABLE!!!

Is it common for the FETs to have D and S interchangeable? Out of habit I checked the component and it showed SDG pinout ... Here we go twisting legs of all the 8 (!) - I test again - still SDG! I was sure something is wrong with my tester and then I read in the datasheet ... Nice feature though - but if you dont know it ...

Warm sound!!!

Really nice! this is a very good transistor to simulate tube preamp or in any case tube behave.
Remember !!! This FET give its best at about 9V and the situation will not be improved overpowering it at 18V!!! The best headroom can be normally reached finely adjusting the circuit.

Note also that, for its nature, this FET can have a little functional tolerance. It is always suggested to use pots to define the functional resistors, especially the ones on the +9V entering line. Then, you can measure it and replace with the proper fix resistor.

Really good product. Strictly suggested for preamp for passive instruments. I also used it on buffer circuit but with good results.
