Description

The 2nd Chorale is a famous 80s chorus based on analog BBD ICs. The pcb is very narrow spaced, so building this on is only for experienced builders!

The kit is using V3207 and V3102 ICs, and contains all parts for the mods mentioned in the build document. The drilled enclosure is designed for using 3 potentiometer.

This project is absolutely not a beginner project. Only build if you are 100% sure what to do!

This kit contains the pcb and all necessary parts. You can choose an enclosure, please buy knobs separately (for 6.3mm shafts).
Here is a list with the parts in the kit: Bill of materials

This project is by delyk PCBs, in cooperation with Musikding. If you have any problem with the content of the kits like missing or wrong parts, please contact Musikding (Klaus). For any technical problem relating to building this project, please contact Kyle at pcb.delyk.com. The eMail address: shop@pcb.delyk.com

5 from 5 Great soudning Chorus

Great sounding clone of B o s s CE-2. Great instruction. Layout itself contains lot of soldering and standing resistors on both sides of board. It fit 125b nicely to get it to 1590b you have to be carefull with height of electrolytic caps, but its possible. All parts in kit nicely and logicly separeted in plastic bags.

5 from 5 Every legends, myths and fabulous stories about CE-2 are true.

From Roland Jazz Chorus amp to the CE-1, CE-2 is the ultimate chorus version, with a slight boost in the mids, compared to its ancestors.

Other brands did interesting choruses too, all inspired by this original circuit.

2nd Chorale gives you a chance to build a CE-2 much more versatile than the original unit currently on the market.

3 mods: bass, intensity, vibrato, and an extra potentiometer allowing to control the effect volume level.

Bass toggle between CE-2 and CE-2b specs (modifies the bass response on the
modulated signal).
Intensity changes the character of the modulation, its really useful, especially if you take the time to adjust the cap in C9.

The build isnt the easiest one, but it is not really difficult either.
All resistors are standing and there are a few components soldered on the other side of the board.
Biasing is quite easy, I did it just by listening.

Really impressed by the sound quality and the beauty of the effect. All the legends, myths and fabulous stories about CE-2 are true.

Instructions are good, all my thanks to Delyk and Musikding for this amazing effect !

5 from 5 great chorus

Build is very tight and narrow, vertical resistors, and components very close together on the pcb so take time and some planing to solder, especially if you do the mods because there are some components to solder on the other side of pcb. I couldnt fit in 220uF and one of the 100uF cap because of very tight positioning, so I solder those on the other side of pcb as I was already doing all the mods so that didnt bother me at all. Markings on pcb are clear just be careful because sometimes is hard to distinguish between 1 and 4, 0 and 8...a helping hand with magnifying glass comes helpful here.
