Description

This is a faithful clone of the BOSS DC-2 Dimension C pedal. The DC-2 is different from other choruses in that there are actually two clock+BBD pairs, each powered by either the inverted or non-inverted output of a single LFO. These BBDs then modulate the dry signal so that signal ?A? reaches its maximum delay time when signal ?B? reaches its minimum and vice versa as they criss-cross back and forth.

This is NOT a beginner's project. It must be calibrated, preferably using an oscilloscope.

This kit contains the PCB and all necessary parts. The enclosure can be selected.

5 from 5 very nice chorus

The blueshift kit sounds great and is an amazing piece of engineering.A very nice board and very good instructions. It came missing some of the parts. The replacements got here in about a week In the end i was very pleased with this kit.It is very well designed. I am not usually a big fan of chorus but this one is different and worth the effort. Thanks again for all the great kits and all the work it takes to make it happen.

5 from 5 Great kit, great sound

For me as a beginner quite challenging build, but the guide is really really great. This chorus sounds imo just like original, i.e. fantastic. Fattens up any sounds, sometimes you forget it on because it can be quite subtle, but when you turn it of you realise how much difference it makes. Can not recommend enough!

5 from 5 Amazing legendary chorus

I was impressed for a long time by this build. Over the years, I built eight other chorus circuits before I could feel confortable and try this one.

Instructions are very good and detailed, but I had to look for pictures on the net to understand clearly how to solder the pin headers on both boards.
I made a mistake with the jumpers on the optocoupler : I didnt have any signal in bypass for 2 or 3 hours, before I could understand where was the issue.
Then, I had to listen very carefully to calibrate the circuit by ear, I spent half an hour because the trimmers action was quite subtle.
I have never seen a 125B enclosure so full of components...Only a wizard could add a battery in there.

Other than that, nothing special to report, exept the high quality of the modulation. A short build compared to how this circuit sounds...almost two days in my case, drilling and painting included.

It is a great pleasure to listen to this chorus !

5 from 5 Beautyfull

I cant describe it. Tricky build, but everything is clear in docs. Stay quiet, really précise and keep your brain clear. And its done.
Thé greatest chorus ive ever eared... Really.
Thank you so Munch Aion, and musikding... Another great project!

5 from 5 Pay attention to the exact calibration with an oscilloscope

A true challenge for every medium to expert DIYer.
Quality ICs does matter (so follow the AION build notes).
Pay attention to the correct calibration: mine didnt work correctely until I adjusted both trimmers with an Oscilloscope (thanks Andrea, my Master).
The kit was 80% OK: resistors and capacitors OK, interconnections and standoff could be better; one socket missing, too much TL072 when the scheme calls for Burr Brown or TL022, but after all a great kit as usual from Klaus.
Pay also attention to the companders; I found a pair of NOS companders NE571.
And be careful in soldering the three toggles (too much tin would cause short problems).
A GREAT Chorus, quiet and musical (no ticking of unwanted noise if well calibrated).
