The Cetus delivers articulate and tight sounds, ideal for sounds with an extended range and lots of gain.

This kit contains the PCB and all necessary parts. The enclosure can be selected, please select 5 knobs, up to 19mm diameter, for 6.3mm shaft seperately.

Build is not too difficult, parts count is not too high. The included jacks were too big, but I had some smaller ones at home so I used them instead (the enclosure came pre-drilled from Musikding and the holes for the jacks were on top, next to the DC jack). Also instead of 100k resistors 130k resistors were included, but I bought the right ones in a shop in the city.

As for the effect itself its great, I love it. Its a high gain pedal and sounds gorgeous into the front of a clean amp. Big gain range from crunchy to all out mayhem. When you increase the gain then theres a bit of noise, but for a distortion pedal its actually very low. Its not even worth mentioning, really.

Also I think its impressive because it achieves all this without relying on any mojo components. No hard-to-find special transistors or biasing needed. Just some diodes, op-amps, caps and resistors.

I feel this was money well spent. Highly recommended.
