Cranky Charles is a British JCM800 style preamp with a 3-Band Baxandall Active EQ allowing you complete control over the tone.

This kit contains the pcb and all necessary parts. You can choose an enclosure, please select 5 knobs for 6,3mm shaft separately.

very bad fuzz pedal

Mounted this pedal..
First of all, I need to say that Im very precautionous guy, and that I checked EVERY omponent before soldering it (even checked every one of them with a multimeter to make sure), triple checked the orientation of all diodes, electrolythic caps and ICs...
Im 100% sure i made no mistake mounting it.. The pedal worked at first try..

and the result was absolutely disappointing !
first of all.. the volume pot acts backwards.. and OF COURSE I mounted it in the correct orientation (to be fair, even if I wanted to, I wouldnt be able to mount it the wrong way)..

The LED is weirdly inverted (REd =off, green = on) but thats a very easy fix

As for the sound.. all I hear is a very bad sounding fuzz pedal.. a very dirty one, with no definition on the bottom end.. No british amp / jcm sound at all.
The tone stack works ok, but the treble cant really remove any of the fizziness of the sound..
I tried to change the clipping leds to some other diods, even removed them al together.. no real change to the sound..

Its the first time Im disappointed THAT MUCH with a pedal kit.. A waste of money and an evening wasted mounting this..
Will go to trash a.s.a.p
