Considering the price of other key components of a pedal, this one is very cheap! The isolated nature of this jack connector is perfect for building pedals, as the standard for these is to be centre negative (The outer sleeve is positive), and if the jack was not isolated, the whole enclosure would be connected to VCC instead of ground.
