Der Muff Violet Ram - Distortion kit

This one (imho) is the best of the Big Muff kits. It does sound a bit more harsh than some of the other versions.
Prepare your drilling kit for the box, or ignore the board mounted pods and wire them to your predrilled box.

The kit is well packaged and easy to solder if you get a little experience with a soldering iron. The pedal sounds good, it has a bit more mids and bass than the average Muff and sounds exceptionnaly good when boosted by another OD/disto pedal. Great for Floydish things as well as ZZ tones, Gary Moore and 70s classic rock.
Great sound for the money!

THIS is a clone circuit.
Sound great,
easy to mount,
very good components.
Added with equalizer, booster and a delay, is identical to the original one.

Second pedal built. Easy to solder and integrate.
What about the result? Note: tried with a Fender Telecaster
A really versatile distortion pedal.
Low gain gives a sweet crunchy dirty sound.
Mid-High gain can reach the beginning of a fuzz by adjusting the tone.
High gain heavy but precise distortion.

Recommend it!

I built the V2 version. Easy to build, everything is clear. Pedal hasnt got too much gain but you can boost it. Gilmour Fans should try this:) The only problem is pre-drilled enclosure. For V2 you have to use fixed pots. But it doesnt fit well with the pcb. Problem is the place of the third hole.

Super clean pedal. Very quiet. Rich warm muff tones.

This was my first ever soldering project. Easy to follow installation instructions. Had to research I few things like where the washers go. Sometimes it was hard to reconcile the part number on the component with what was printed on the parts list (pots for example), but managed to figure it out by elimination.

Really couldnt be happier with the sound of this pedal.

Facile à monter, pas de bruit parasite.
Son crémeux, ne bave pas, même avec la disto poussée.
Devient Fuzz accompagné dune distorsion naturel dun ampli à lampe.
Super son. Super rapport qualité/prix

My second kit, its a bit more complicated than the Rangemaster, but doable. Sounds really good! Mine lives in the same case with der Range, I was going for something like a BAE hot fuzz kind of pedal.
