Engineer´s Thumb - Compressor kit

Au milieu de la cohorte de clones Dyna ou Ross, voire les deux, ce compresseur fait merveille. Pas de coloration abusive, le son de la guitare est respecté, les réglages sont fins soit pour donner une discrète et efficace compression soit pour aller dans du plus moderne, qui passe au dessus du mix. Pas de souffle, utilisée pour ma part en tout début de chaine.
Le kit est simple à réaliser, fort bien pensé en terme dergonomie, un très bon rapport qualité/prix.

Its my first Das Musikding kit. I wanted to try this compressor with 5 pots and I am satisfied both with the kit, which is easy to make, and with the sound that is brilliant and without background noise.

The build was pretty straightforward, and the end result is an OK compressor - no better than the premium brand pedals I have had, but no worse either.

I find the taper on the pots to be odd - only at the end of the taper do I seem to get a change in characteristic. Probably a one-off pot issue.

Super compresseur, silencieux et efficace.
Comme dhabitude le PCB et les pièces sont dexcellente qualité et la doc suffisamment détaillée pour un constructeur averti.
A moi le son précis qui passe au dessus du mix.

I have used a number of compressors, cheap and boutique, but I think this is the best. Easy to adjust, great sound and no noise.

Very nice kit: the result is a very well built (and sounding!) stompbox.
I suggest to buy the pre-drilled enclosure (in this way it is possible to put the pot directly on the pcb).
Another suggestion is to buy small knobs because the pot are vey near: i bought 5 Fluted knob 15mm greens and they are perfect!

Un excelent compresseur qui respecte parfaitement le signal. Il sait se faire oublier en ne colorant pas trop le son.
Le kit est très très bien fait, les valeurs des composants annotées : un montage hyper propre, facile à faire.
Bravo !

This is a great kit, and the pcb is very high quality. I love the layout and how its using a TL074 instead of two TL072. Im using it for bass guitar and it sounds awesome, no mods needed. Nice, full and punchy sound. I prefer this one over MXR M87, and it might even knock my Aguilar TLC off the board.
