Description

Recreate tones produced by Jimmy Page, the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, David Gilmour, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Eric Johnson, all from one box. This board provides the best variety of playable sounds from the 70's.

In the early 70's, fuzz was king. The fuzz portion of this board is highly "playable," meaning that the response and dynamics can be controlled by pick attack and the guitar's volume control. Later in the 70's the warm tubey crunch of a mildly pushed amp became highly desirable. The overdrive section of this pedal provides these tones. And best yet, you can mix the sounds of the overdrive, fuzz and booster in any number of combinations.

This kit contains the pcb and all necessary parts. You can choose an enclosure, please select 7 knobs for 6,3mm shaft separately.

5 from 5 3 in 1 does it all

Very good pedal which combines three effects among the most useful to Classic Rock fans.
The drive portion is kind of a simplified Tube Screamer with a sound rich in harmonics that I would describe as an hybrid of a TS9 and an OCD (yes, it can be very crunchy).
The fuzz is a silicon one very reminiscent of a good old Fuzz Face. Very gainy, cleans up well with the guitar volume. It can go from a mild overdrive to an all out buzzing demon bound to slap your mamma. Impressive.
And the Stage 3 boost is an honest effect, which gives a hefty lift in the medium.
My only criticism would be that all three effects are a bit trebbly. Even with the tone on max bass (notice that the tone knob of the drive is reversed!), you may still have a bit of a harsch sound, depending of your gear.
Thankfully, you have two boost bass switches (one for the fuzz, one for the booster stage) which can come to the rescue.
The PCB is easy to populate, but take your time with the wiring. There are lots of things to connect and its a bit difficult to put all these strings in a small enclosure. So... think big in this department!
All in all, an excellent product.

5 from 5 My favourite pedal

I build this pedal some time ago and it has become my favourite drive pedal. The boost is always on and I keep switching from drive to fuzz. And if I want to go wild I turn them all on.

Building is a bit more challenging then a starters kit, but surely do-able. Really recommended!
