The Madamp J5Mk1 is a flexible 5W guitar tube amp, providing the following features:

Single channel with volume, treble/mid/bass and master volume for clean/crunch
Switchable gain stage with gain pot for overdrive with switchable filter
Switchable bass boost (Fat switch)
Flexible sound, from clean and crunch to overdrive with tons of gain
Due to 5W output power real power tube overdrive without crashing the windows :-)
Additional parts like speaker or front panel are also available

The J5Mk1 Kit contains all needed parts to build your own tube amp, please select the tubes above:

Sockets, power and output transformer
Resistors, capacitors, potentiometers
Switches, plug sockets, power cord, fuse holder and fuse
wire, cable, screws, solder lugs, boards and so on
Aluminium chassis (WxDxH 432 x 254 x 51 mm)
Additionally you will need the following parts:
Knobs (for 6mm or 6,3mm shaft)
Enclosure/Cabinet (wooden top or combo)
Speaker (8Ohm)
Front panel

Great amp

My first DIY tube amp! The sound is very warm and 5W is more than enough for play at home.

The kit is easy to build (but requires time) and i think the manual could be more detailed.

The bigger problem i had was a contradition on manual for output transformer that said connect lug 13 but on the picture the plug is 12..

Excellent Experience

This was my first amp build, although I have built a few effect pedals and have some very basic soldering skills. I ordered the M15MK1 Deluxe package, mainly because I didnt want to have to bother with the labels for the knobs.

The directions were easy to follow, and the staff were really quick to answer any questions that I had (both via the forum as well as email). I went slowly and double-checked my work as I went.

Great amp kit

I really enjoyed building this amp and Im very pleased with the end result.
Kit contains everything required for the build, instructions are easy to follow and its great sounding amp.
I had some doubts with the output transformer wiring but Forum helped to sort that out.
This kit is perfect for first-time builders. Some minor improvements/corrections of the manual would be helpful - however, answers can be found on the Forum which I see as a good learning exercise for a beginner.
Looking forward to testing several mods described on the Forum :-)

The documentation to be updated and improved, some pieces do not match the need. The construction is not beginners but at the end works.

I tested the amp with a Fender Stratocaster and guitar cabinet, 1x12 Celestion Vintage 30 speaker, 60 watts into 8 ohms (the sound could be better above all the clean sound).

Great sound!

This was my first tube amp build - and it workes perfectly. The manual is very good, if you follow the steps and do all the measurments, you will succeed.
The sound is really great - both clean and overdriven. The price is very low for what you get - If you are considering building a tube amp, try this one, the kit is excellent!
