Description

The Ludicrous Speed Overdrive is a very transparent and dynamic overdrive. In neutral position it does not change the signal, but adds only slight distortion. The tone pot works well, the drive knob works similar to a master volume knob of a tube amp.

This kit contains the pcb and all necessary parts. You can choose an enclosure, please select 3 knobs for 6,3mm shaft separately.

Almost famous..

First attempt I mad a mistake with the soldering and wrecked a track on the pcb. So ordered another one, which took a little while to arrive but not too bad considering covid etc. However there was a component missing (c6) which i managed to de-solder from the first pcb and re use.
The instructions (for the footswitch/daughter board) could be a little more clearer and took a little hunting online to find, so ended up not using and hard wiring it instead.
Having not owned a Lightspeed i can only go on youtube demos of the original, but to my ear and feel this really is a fantastic clone. It is what it says, organic. Cant explain, but it just feels great to play!

Sounds great

It sounds great! A/B’d it with a friend’s Lightspeed and couldn’t tell the difference, aside from the taper of the tone pot. The change in tone was spread more evenly over the knob on the original, though both extremes were the same.

One caveat, the wiring diagram given here had me wire the ring of the input jack to the “in” on the pcb and I didn’t notice until I hooked it up and there was no signal. Make sure the tip of the input jack goes to the “in” on the pcb
