Description

The MINI-HP-VONG is the little brother of the VONG filter. It has a 1M input buffer and an adjustable second order high-pass filter (-12dB/oct.). The cut-off frequency can be adjusted continuously between 30 Hz and 140 Hz.

Easy and effective

My first self assembly kit, made easy by the excellent clear instructions and comprehensive contents. The finished item works well - no unwanted noise or colouration, just a clean control on lower frequencies. Very useful, and surprisingly satisfying to put together.

Excellent kit and support

Ive installed this on my bass pedal board, after the octave pedal, and its now always on. I play a 5-string bass and, with the octave pedal, it can get muddy on the fat strings. This tightens up the low end. Julian Pöhler (Schalltechnik_04) was good enough to send me information on modifying the filter parameters but, in the event, I didnt need to do anything; its perfect as is.

I also gig with another Schalltechnik_04 pedal, the Pumpernickel compressor. Its been always on on my board for the last five years.

Transparent, effective, great instructions

This is a well assembled kit with very clear instructions. The circuit is dead quiet, and very effective at dialling out sub-sonic tones without impacting the tone.

Great circuit, good kit.

The HPF works really well and was a very easy build. I appreciated the hand-labelled resistor values to help speed up the pre-assembly checking process. The only disappointment was the enclosure drilling which was a bit rough (not circular), had burrs remaining and were not perfectly lined up with the jacks when mounted correctly on the circuit board. The centres on the drilling template may be off by ~1mm making it difficult to get the circuit into the housing without force.
All in all Im pleased with the outcome and would buy again.
