Facile et utile (easy and useful)

Montage simple à réaliser et pratique car je cherchais à garder mon octaver clean tout en utilisant une disto. Pour gagner un peu de place, jutilise des jacks stéréos pour les boucles auquelles je branche des cables en Y (stéréo 6,35 vers 2 monos 6,35) et comme ça tout tiens dans un boitier de type 125B, je peux même ajouter une pile 9V.

Easy to do and useful to keep my octaver clean while using a distortion. To save a little space, I used stereo jacks for the loops and I plug a Y cable ans everything fits in 125B enclosure, even with a 9V battery.

perfect parallel mixer

Its simple and just works

Very simple to put together, excellently packaged and labeled by Musikding, as always. The kit comes with an LED and resistor, which are not on the schematic from TH Custom Effects (easy to improvise though), but I dont need another LED on my pedal board, so I left it out.
There is no explicit information on this in the instructions, but I added ground wiring to all the phone jacks, just to make sure the connection is optimal; I dont want to rely on the enclosure to provide the ground circuit.
The splitter/mixer works fine. I do think that the signal is weakened - both effect loops need to include some kind of boost (I combine a fuzz and a distortion in parallel, and both can provide sufficient boost). Also, I dont get a dry signal, only the signal from either one or two of the effect loops. As far as I understand the schematic, its supposed to be that way. If you want the extended version of a splitter/mixer, get the ParaMix kit from Musikding/Guitar PCB (with T-Diddy boost mod if you want the complete works). Costs a little bit more and is a little bit more complicated, but offers much more functionality.
I put it in a BB enclosure that I had lying around. It is way too big, but on the other hand very easy to get all the phone jacks in place with enough space to prevent short circuits. The circuit board is fixed to the pot-meter, which is mounted in the enclosure, so no need to find a way to fixate the circuit board. Do put some isolating material between the pot and the circuit board, just to be sure!
This is the third kit from Musikding that I built, very likely not the last. Very happy with them, always delivering what they promise.

Ich habe das nun einige Zeit in Gebrauch und kann nichts Nachteiliges finden. Super Ding, das es fertig so fast gar nicht zu kaufen gibt, schon gar nicht zu einem solchen unschlagbaren Preis.

Auch für Löt-Laien wie mich problemlos machbar. Muss man halt bisschen sorgfältig sein, dann ist das kein Ding.

Da ich Bariton-Gitarre spiele, bin ich dem Rat für Bass gefolgt und habe die drei 220n Kondensatoren C1, C3 und C4 von vornherein durch 470n ersetzt, um keine Bassfrequenzen zu verlieren. Ich kann auch keinen Verlust feststellen. Hab nicht probiert, ob das mit den 220ern der Fall gewesen wäre.

Nach meinem Verständnis sind es zwei separate Pedale: Ein Splitter und ein Mixer. Das heißt, der Dry-Mix, der in der Anleitung erwähnt wird, existiert nicht. Ich denke, das ist vielleicht vom großen Bruder, dem Pro-Cessor in der Anleitung geblieben, wo das gehen mag. Die Schaltung splittet das Signal vom Haupteingang in die beiden Send-Ausgänge. Im zweiten Schritt mixt sie, was auch immer man für Signale an die beiden Return-Eingänge anlegt. Und das ist auch gut so. Ein kleines Pedal für unter 30 Euro macht das Gleiche wie üblicherweise zwei separate für Stück mindestens 100.

Die Platine ist zwar sehr klein, kaum größer als der obendrauf befindliche Chickenhead-Drehknopf, den ich ausgesucht habe. Mit den Elkos ist sie aber nicht so ganz flach. Das heißt, ich habe den Plan geknickt, die Haupt-in/-out-Klinken an die hintere Stirnseite zu bohren. Das ist etwas eng mit der Platine drüber. Statt dessen habe ich auf der unteren Hälfte der Deckel-Oberseite alle sechs Klinken platziert. So bekommt man eine Art Steckfeld. Das ist vermutlich ja auch meistens der Verwendungszweck. Man kann die Signalkette schnell durch umstecken ändern, ohne das Pedal aus dem Bord nehmen zu müssen.
