5 from 5 True to the original. LOTS of bass!!!

This was my first order from musikding.de and my first pedalpcb design build.
The kit arrived with everything listed in the BOM. Nothing was missing. The pcb was a dream to build on. It differed from others I’ve built in that the diagram in the build guide shows the component numbers, but the pcb shows their values instead. I found this a really helpful way of doing things and helps avoid the possibility of putting the wrong value component in any particular space.
One thing i would recomend with this and other kits, is that you solder in the middle pot (Spectrum on this kit) BEFORE you mount the 2n7 and 82n capacitors behind it on the pcb. Getting the iron to the pot’s legs will be much easier, and you avoid the risk of damaging the caps.
If you do that, The Nobleman kit is a straight forward build. The PCB itself is well thought out and pleasinly symetrical when built 😊
The original ODR1 was known for producing lots of bass. Too much for some setups (the current Nobels pedal has a bass cut switch to combat this). The Nobleman is no different from the original and you’ll need to spend time with it to find its sweet spot in your rig, otherwise the bass can be overpowering and a little unpleasant.
The pedal responds beautifully with the guitar’s volume.

4 from 5 Very nice clone of Odr1.

The bag arrived with all the correct parts plus some 18K resistors (i have no idea why). I found this a nice easy build and it worked first time which was a plus. It is not a tubescreamer! The spectrum control provides some really nice tonal options and i can see why this is such a popular pedal. The only downside is that the level and gain pots work in reverse, whether this is down to me or Musikding im not sure. It doesnt bother me as this pedal is rather good and now lives on my pedalboard as boost for solos. Well worth an investment !
