Description

The Prism Preamp is a pedal conversion of the obscure but highly sought-after FA-1 FET Amplifier. The FA-1 is basically a booster with enormous gain reserves, with a tone control and a low cut switch.

This kit contains the PCB and all necessary parts. The enclosure can be selected, please select 3 knobs, up to 20mm diameter, for 6,3mm shaft separately.

This project is by Aion Electronics, in collaboration with Musikding. If you have any problems with the contents of the kit, please contact Das Musikding (Klaus). Since the modifications require some basic knowledge, this project is rather for more experienced builders.

OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE

This Booster is extremely gainfull and for this reason can be used in a wide type of music and is able to drive all the amp imput stages without any issue. Is very quite and low noise in comparison to many other boosters. The fact that the front end circuit is built using a FET give to the circuit a real transparency and do not affect the output sound/impedence of the pickup.
The components of the kit are good quality ones, while the alu box.

Outstanding preamp!

Lovely sound, very musical. I use this in front to drive my other pedals because my guitar har low output vintage pickups. Works great, has tons of gain and a very functional bass/treble control. Low noise.

very nice boost

this boost is full of headroom i use it as an always on device after all my drive pedals, it lightly boosts the signal into Vox amps (they love it). It also have a lot of gain if needed. The treble and bass controls are perfect to shape your sound and avoid muddiness when few overdrives/distortions are used together as it add a final layer of clarity to your sound.
The build was easy as it is not my first project, no sign of hum of any sort and reliable in use.
