Description

The Sonic Reducer bitcrusher is a sample rate reducer / aliaser that uses sample and hold to take ?snapshots? of your signal. It basically works as a crude analog to digital converter. A pulse oscillator determines at which frequency these samples are taken. The resolution pot controls the pulsewidth of the oscillator - wider pulse lets more clean signal though.

This kit is a creation by Parasitstudio.se in cooperation with Musikding.de. If you have any problem with the content of the kits like mising or wrong parts, please contact Musikding (Klaus) at kontakt@musikding.de. Here´s the parts list: Parts List (BOM)

This kit contains all parts you need to build a fully functional effect pedal. Not included in the kit, but also good to have:

  • Aluminium enclosure: select one from top
  • 9V DC power supply
  • 2 nice knobs for the potentiometer, up to 20mm diameter and for 6.3mm shafts
  • Decal, transfer or transparent sheets for labeling

4 from 5 Cool and quite easy kit

It had 1 wrong resistor value in the bag. Fortunately I had the right one myself.
I could use all instructions in one file, instead of going to the sweedish site, for the switch/led wiring... other than that it works great.

4 from 5 Nice and LoFi sounding pedal.

Its very nice and interesting pedal, but the Documentation is confusing.

First: If you are building it, be aware that you are looking at the right Documentation, either version 1.1 or 2.0, because the parts are different.

Second: Wiring Documentation is a bit tricky to find, so i would recomend buying one of those DP3T pcbs to make it easier.

Overall: A great pedal, just be aware that you are looking at the right documetation while building. :-)
