Description

The Squishy Octopus compressor is based on the classic "280". It gives you a "can't tell when it's on but miss it when it's gone" compression as well as some more cpmression.

This kit contains the pcb and all necessary parts. You can choose an enclosure, please select 2 knobs for 6,3mm shaft separately.

Good for beginners!

First I want to say I only gave 4 stars because I had very little trouble with instructions as they were for V1.0 and the item shipped was V1.1 BUT problems were the sort of like two components hadnt been marked in component list and therefore it was troublesome to figure out their values and respective places in the PCB.

However the PCB was really well made and I chose to insert the components in slots that seemed to fit them and after finishing the build for my surprise everything worked! So really nothing major but cant give 5star rating because of the instructions...

All in all as this was my first ever build and I think this is very good for beginners. It took me roughly seven hours from start to finish so its a days job in this sense...

Amazing quality

This product is very easy to build and offers really outstanding quality compression. Its far from the effect type compression found in FET comps like 1176 and VCA comps like those made by SSL. It offers a natural compression and has great signal integrity. Recommended.

Almost a smooth build

The build went smooth up until the octocoupler witch I mounted wrong and the pedal kind of buzzed when I strummed hard, but I eventually figured it out and fixed it. The effect itself is nice, kind of bright (they say it feels that way because of all freq boosting) it has some squash but not like a boss cs3 kind of squash if you push it. Overall I like it and you can tell on single notes when its on but the others wont be able to tell. I think its a good buy and you cand use it as a booster as well (cranking the volume will boost you signal considerably).
