The Acapulco - Overdrive kit

I am really pleased. I read all of the reviews and I have to say: the only drawback of this build would have to be my lack of understanding. I have never read a schematic before and I have just a basic knowledge of how circuitry works. So the documents were a little bit confusing but they are not a hinderance. If you follow the layout of the PCB, you will have no problems. My soldering skills werent that great but with patience and a little bit of effort, it was successful in the end. Its really satisfying to see your creation work as intended on the first try!

As for the sound, its similar to the original pedal. Maybe if you swap the ICs it would get even closer, but I have no complaints. Its loud and gritty and it does the job great.

I would absolutely recommend this kit for anyone! Great fun!

I couldnt believe two opamps and a few passives would make such a huge sound, but they do! This kit is super simple, perfect for beginners, and it sounds massive! I bought two of them (one for me, one for a friend) and we both love it, especially paired with the biggest knob Das Musikding has :D

Put this together in about an hour and a half, the schematic was a bit hard to follow for someone with minimal electrical knowledge but I wound up just following pictures of other peoples builds and it worked first try! Sounds ridiculously good, half-way between fuzz and distortion but keeps note clarity and sounds even fatter with a Rat or boost before it. Must-have pedal for doom lovers.

This pedal is an absolute beast. You can use it as a straight up power amp distortion, which will melt the paint on your walls, but you can also turn it to about 9 oclock and roll off on your volume knob for some outstanding overdrive tones. Easy build. Good beginner project for sure. Your neighbors will love you for it!

Such a simple circuit, such a massive sound. I thought I had done something wrong when I could hear loud squeeling and 90s internet noises thru it, but apparently thats something that happens when you run the volume past 6ish.

This was my second pedal build. It was very easy to build. Nothing over 9 oclock works with my setup, since the gain is crazy loud. But this seems to be also in the original circuit from the original.
It cleans up nicely if you dial down the guitar.
