Description

The Bender Mk2 is a wild germanium fuzz beast. Featuring 2 control knobs it is delivering a classic tonebender fuzz sound.

Like its ancestors it uses a positive ground, so you have to use a separate power supply or battery.

This kit contains all parts you need to build a fully functional effect pedal.

Not included in the kit, but also good to have:

  • Aluminium enclosure: select one on the top
  • 9V battery or DC power supply
  • 2 nice knobs for the pots, for 6.3mm shaft
  • Decal, transfer or transparent sheets for labeling

Instrument: Guitar
Effect-Type: Fuzz

5 from 5 lot of fun

great sound, many old songs got the right patination, but such sustain can be useful even in non-sixties songs . I am really glad that I have decided to build this nice box myself (again after 35-years rest: to make soldering was like to view album with family photos :-)).
good job, Musikding.de!

5 from 5 A sound that marked a generation

This circuit sounds beautiful and is very responsive to the input volume, which makes it way more versatile than one initially would think. From gentle consistent organic tones to screaming and spitting fuzz tones. The kit has a very clear and solid PCB, was very well labeled by Musikding and really easy to mount. Its a lot more than I hoped for while paying this kind of money for a sound that is very expensive in the non-DIY market. Thanks a lot!

5 from 5 like the original.

It sounds fantastic, I didnt think it could have that typical bender sound but I have to change my mind. I would buy it again without thinking about it. it will remain fixed in my pedal board. Attention it has the positive ground like the original, I recommend to power it with the battery

5 from 5 Bought the kit + enclosure

Easy enough to finish. lots of extra wire and they already stripped the ends. The enclosure I ordered has the input/output on top. A total beginner might find it a bit difficult but not impossible. My suggestion is to plan ahead. identify components then populate the board. check they are in the right spots before soldering. make sure the potentiometers and jacks do not contact each other. test before soldering on the power input. plan wire management ahead. If the tone sucks or sounds really tiny, swap the first 2 transistors. they are labeled the same but sounded much better the second I swapped. must have been how they are supposed to go. Might want to get a daughterboard(maybe the one that switches polarity) for the 3pdt switch to make life easier. I bought a plastic case for the battery and will use velcro so it doesnt rattle inside. cheap way to get a germanium fuzz

5 from 5 fuzz vintage

5 from 5 Awesome tone !!!

All parts are very good quality and labeled properly. I am so glad I purchased it. Relatively easy to build for a beginner. I have been looking for this tone bender tone for years and none of the clones I tried were good enough. The germanium transistors from Musik Ding are carefully selected with the proper gain and leakage values and that is the key. There is no word to described the high quality of this tone. Combined with my supro amp, I actually just stepped into old Zeppelin territory right away. It is a great pedal and everyone that plays guitar should own one and I am being brutally honest. If you are into fuzz and vintage distortion, you have to buy this. It ranges from hairy boost to overdrive, to fuzz and finally fuzz-distortion. All into one. It is loud and has as much gain as you will ever need. Building your own pedal is very rewarding and I would give 6 stars if I could. Anyone a manual could do this with some soldering practice first to make sure you dont damage the components. Keep making those kits !!!

4 from 5 Nice and caracteristic sound, good project to start if youre a beginner.

This fuzz is wild, super caracteristic and somewhat gated sounding, for the price is a no brainer if you like wild fuzzes. The only downsides for some is that you dont have a lot of control on the amount of fuzz the pedal produces and you arent able to clean it very well with you guitar because of the lack of control and caracteristic gated sound of this pedal, but on the positive side, its super quiet and doesnt feedback.
I would have probably bought the fuzz factory clone if the description on this pedal had been more especific in terms of sound, just because you get crazier options with the factory for a gated fuzz.

Finally, I suggest you get a bigger enclosure then the 125b if youre going to use a 9v battery inside, because the enclosure doesnt have a lot of space and everything will be crowded.

All in all, its a great pedal! You just need to figure out if what Im describing is the sound youre looking for.
