Description

The Buffer is a discrete Buffer which can be built in 3 different variations. You can build it as a germanium-, silicon-, or FET-Version.

This kit contains all parts you need to build a fully functional effect pedal.

Not included in the kit, but also good to have:

  • Aluminium enclosure: select one from top.
  • 9V battery or DC power supply
  • Decal, transfer or transparent sheets for labeling

5 from 5 The device you thought you didnt need

If you have a pedalboard >10 FX, get one of these... the FET version is a really good one for my taste...

4 from 5 Nice n easy

Being a total novice in the realm of do-it-yourself pedals I have to say it went really smooth! Maybe the instructions were just a tad too technical (but I admit I am really dense, on the subject… anyone with a little more experience will find the instruction perfectly understandable).
Maybe an optional Ikea-style assembling guide could be a nice addition for the REAL beginners…

Sehr gut!
Klein. Einfach. Günstig. Supergeil!

4 from 5 Great Kit

Its a nice easy project which compensates for losses in the Pedal Board maze of wiring and works extremely well. Parts are clearly labelled and resistors are identified. The whole project is made very easy to construct with good instructions. The one glitch comes when given the choice of which one of three transistors to choose, you then have to relate it to the circuit diagram to decide which circuit Links you use. This was not at all clear, with NO written instructions to help. OK its so only one transistor involved. But it took some fathoming out. The box supplied was massive. I ended up buying a smaller box elsewhere as The battery space is not needed if using a 9volt dc supply.

Kit completo , componenti corretttamente indicati.

5 from 5 efficient

even being rather a newbie in soldering, it wasnt so difficult, we are leaded by the hand. No more noise on my nux looper, its a real pleasure. Thanks a lot !

5 from 5 easy and effective

very very small. i put it in MOOER type encloser. very easy to build just see the instructions.ive done SI mode.dont put it before fuzz, fuzz wont like it... fuzzes like to be 1rst in line.thats all

5 from 5 Does what it is supposed to do

Bringt alle hohen Frequenzen wieder zurück. Super einfach zu bauen. Passt auch in ein kleineres Gehäuse.

5 from 5 really efficient

Enough tiny to be integrate in an other effect. Personatly, i added it to a loop selector, switchabble with a 3pdt in case i use a fuzz.

5 from 5 buffer

3 from 5 Not as neutral as I hoped

I just put the JFet version together this afternoon. No problem with the instructions that is very easy, just didnt get how the refs were working for the big white capas but a quick look on the pictures and thats it.
But after measurements (done with exciting coils on guitar pickups) I was a little disappointed: there is a good dB of loss on the entire spectrum and this is definitely not full HiZ (we would expect 1M input impedance for a buffer usually?). So it is not bad per say, maybe this is even better for use with a cable so the natural increase of the resonance due to the presence of the cable will be damped, for people just putting a buffer permanently at the beginning of their pedal board for example. But myself I like to keep things separated and I already deal with that in my onboard electronics or with supplementary dedicated boxes, and I like to enable/disable the buffer depending the configuration I am using etc, to cancel the presence of cable only when desired for example... so I was just expecting a purely neutral buffer... Maybe I will try the other versions perhaps they work a little differently...
