Description

The Factory is a clone of a well known boutique fuzz pedal. It is basically an extended germanium fuzz. You can create classic sounds as well as some very unusual sounds.

This kit contains all parts you need to build a fully functional effect pedal. Also very useful:

Not included in the kit, but also good to have:

  • Aluminium enclosure: select one on the top
  • 9V battery or DC power supply
  • 5 nice knobs for the pots, for 6.3mm shaft
  • Decal, transfer or transparent sheets for labeling

Instrument: Guitar Bass
Effect-Type: Fuzz

3 from 5 Its a good kit, with a bad documentation

Id give this 5 stars... but the build documentation is rather bad. The bags the transistors come in are marked with the wrong codes, there is no manual, so you need to find out by yourself how the pedal works. Since its a rather crazy device, you never know if some things are a feature of a fault in the circuit.
Also if you take the drilled enclosure its a bit hard to fit all the things in, since the jacks and the led have been placed a bit too close together to fit the PCB between them.

È stato molto semplice montare il tutto. Resa eccezionale.

5 from 5 Great sounding fuzz

The pedal is awesome and sounds great. Assembling the product is easy but I couldn’t find the transistors polarity so a couple of attempts needed in order to let the fuzz sound right. A more detailed guide (for beginners would be a time saver). I personally opted for the small Box Type B enclosure and it’s fine. Highly recommended!

5 from 5 Would not recommend for your first pedal, but definitely worth it

Sounds and works great and actually soldering everything together wasnt too bad (just pay careful attention to which way the transistors will go before you solder the sockets, since its harder to make out the markings afterwards).

Fitting everything in the enclosure was pretty tough, even with the enclosure being so large - but its still doable. This was my second pedal build, so its doable for a relative beginner too, as long as youre careful when putting everything into the enclosure.

Of course the fuzz factory is a pretty complicated pedal to dial in, so be sure youre ok with that too.

5 from 5 Great pedal true to the original

Great fuzz pedal with sound true to the original. Very versatile from all fuzz face sounds to almost big muff. Only issue is the sensitivity to wah pedal if it is infront of fuzz youll need buffer pedal to avoid squeals:)

5 from 5 Excellent

Easyish build that took about a day. All parts correct and well labelled. Sounds great.

5 from 5 Great pedal kit

Firstly thanks to these guys for sending to New Zealand at what I thought was a very reasonable price. The pedal itself went together easily. I tried it out with some PNP (throwaway if blown )2N3906s first as I wanted to be sure before I put the germaniums in.( theyre really hard to get a matched set here). Got good fuzz even with those cheap silicons in. The gate seems to control a lot of the craziness and Im still playing with it but mild to wicked would be a good way to put it. Definitely a good range and throws my big muff in the creek without a paddle. Ive put it in a 1590BB because I had artwork and knob placement I wanted but Ive built a few now and it would easily fit in a 125B with tidy wiring. Give it a go . It Rocks :-)

5 from 5 This must be one of the most brutal fuzz boxes in existence

It offers lots of different sounds and the pots interact in an interesting way. It sounds just like the original, which is in fact quite expensive. There are astonishingly few components, but the wiring of the pots has to be done carefully.

5 from 5 Very Fun First Project

Everything seems to work good after a couple missed connections. Easily swappable transistors are a fun little plus, I swapped one of the two AC125s to an old AC126 I had salvaged from an old radio and it mellowed out the tone some.

5 from 5 Fun build and pedal

The Factory was my second build, after a PedalPCB Glory Hole. To my surprise, i found this build much easier. Not because of the lower part count, but the room for soldering on the PCB. High quality kit! The pedal does everything the Fuzz Factory does, very crazy and lots of fun. Highly recommend for a starting DIYer.
