The Range - Germanium Treblebooster kit

this pedal is a real treble booster + a booster;
Micro-switch 3 positions offers a choice of boost level;
Potentiometer allows a treble boost from volume reduction up to volume boost;
I am slighly disappointed as it does not really overdrive: may be the choice of Germanium transistor, it comes with an AC125 while original Range master came with an OC44(but it is easily changeable if you find an OC44 or OC71 )
Otherwise, nearly anybody can assemble the kit, one has just to have good eyes ( or a magnifier), good iron, good solder, patience, and follow the doc.
And it is very rewarding when you close the box and play it !
this assembly was the first for me !

Javais déja acheté quelques kits il y a bien longtemps mais là les kits ont fortement évoluer , les circuits imprimés sont bien meilleurs, les composants de très bonne qualités seul les jack femelles sont de moyennes gammes je trouve mais sinon ça le fait pour le prix, sinon ce kit niveau son ça le fait , jai pas testé assez longtemps la pédale pour avoir un vrai jugement digne de ce nom, la seul chose que je peux dire cest quil faut une bonne alim bien isolée parce quelle produit pas mal de souffle, sinon on sent réellement les différences avec le switch 3 positions, pas mal pour booster une disto parce contre pour le son clair je trouve ça assez moyen .

Sounds great, my first kit / first time soldering on a PCB.
One capacitor was missing, but another one was sent promptly.
I had the top mount enclosure, and i think the hole for the switch was made in a slightly wonky spot, so the LED
was awkward to fit, and the wires were too short to go to the output jack.
To solve this is just soldered on another piece of wire to reach the jack.
Also took me a while to get the documentation, but once i started everything became clear.

All in all a pleasant experience, for a great sound.

4 stars because the top drilled enclosure doesnt fit properly, so choose the one with the holes in the sides.

Building the pedal is pretty straight forward and the result is really cool. Amazed how much I like the pedal, especially because its only a handful of components. I use it on the lead channel of a marshall jubilee which is already quite overdriven. When engaging the boost it cuts some low end, add volume, gain and harmonics. When you lower the volume on your guitar it cleans up nicely. It can be a little shrill but I also use a treble bleed in my guitars. It is a bit different pedal than a normal boost or overdrive pedal, so Im learning on how to best use it.

Nice quick build, the 3PDT PCB helped with cutting down on time spent wiring the switch, plus it holds the LED quite nicely as well.

The only small issues are that the PCB is too close to the power supply jack and needs some care to fit in, and that the wiring docs picture different input and output jacks than the ones provide (the ring, tip and sleeve terminals are _not_ in order presented in the wiring docs, so be careful).

premier essai dans lassemblage et résultat impeccable montage facile. cest cool de pouvoir monter et personnaliser des pédale à ce prix la. je personnalise avec les couleur de led et jimprime sur les papier décalco.
Une couche de vernis par dessus pour finir. Rendu audio meilleur quavec des multi-effets.
