Description

The Valv-e-tizer is an overdrive with real tube sound.

With this kit you can build all variants written in the docs. A tube is not included in the kit, due to the current tube delivery situation there is no option available.

The knobs shown on the photo are not included in the kit.

This kit is a creation by TH Custom Effects in cooperation with Musikding.de. This Tube pedal is wonderfull !

I work for many guitarists and musicians, and repair all Amp or pedal effects.
Ive bought this one for test, and now, i love it !!!!

Its a only pure pedal effect, without OP Amp or transistor, juste a Trigger of Scmitt and Tube !!!! The sound is a very simple Tube Sound !

I have modified the Internal powert supply for No crash and Bzzzzzz .... I explain here :
- C9 original polarized condensateur = 220 UF.... Mine is 2200 UF 35V. On parallele, i install a film condensateur 100 nF and a diode 1N4001. Now, there are no buzz....

I modify, also, the tone controle.... Now a baxandall série is installed.... (see The doc for the tube driver ! )

Very nice sound and very nice PCBs.

Amazing clean boost

I built the clean version. This thing blows any solid state boost Ive ever built or tried. The sound is crisp, cristal clear, with that special tube feel in the attacks. Even the silence between the notes is pretty. I use this pedal between a compressor and a reverb, then straight to the amp. I use a NOS Belvu 12au7 as I have a few in stock. This pedal is a must build.

Rewarding to build

Really enjoyable project and the end result sounds great and looks spectacular in a pre-drilled case even with no finishing.

I had a 10k preset missing from my kit, and the supplied panel mount DC power socket was 1mm bigger than the hole in the case, so it needed filing out a bit. Other than that, really straightforward.

Tips: dont solder the valve socket or pots until youve test fitted them and the PCB into the case; if you get the mounting heights wrong, its difficult to fix. Theres no pcb connection for the output ground - connect your output socket ground to the ground on the input socket. Google effect pedal footswitch wiring too get diagrams of how to wire the footswitch.

A chalange

Dont hurry like me & dont forget to solder ligth under tube socket the rigth polarity ;)
I mess it up. Dont know if thers a spareone plate.
