Description

The Tweed Man is an emulation of a late 50s Tweed Amp. It features a Gain and Volume control, and a 3-Band tone control.

This kit contains the PCB and all necessary parts. The enclosure can be selected, please select 5 knobs, up to 19mm diameter, for 6.3mm shaft seperately.

Great overdrive and Tweed Bassman emulation

This circuit sounds amazingly good with both guitars and a basses.

EQ is very effective, there is a great variety of tones available.

Voice Switch allows to change several values at various locations in the circuit. You can switch between low gain and high gain, overdrive to full distortion with a different texture. Usually, I have to make some changes with the EQ when I use this switch.

On my build, I soldered a B10K pot instead of the Presence trimmer. This additionnal control is very useful.

The original is sometime called a foundation pedal, meaning you can stack it very easily with other circuits, like a preamp. I tried several drives and overdrives before the Tweedman with good results.

With a guitar and active humbuckers pickups (EMG 81/85), I like to set it on high gain with scooped mids, Treble set around 9, Bass somewhere between 1 and 3.
These settings are a bit bassy, but I like it very much this way.

If you want some space in the enclosure to put a battery inside, I suggest to drill the enclosure yourself...
