Description

The Zelus is a modernised Muff variant. It has an added input boost and and enhanced Tone control section.

This kit contains the PCB and all necessary parts. The enclosure can be selected, please select 6 knobs for 6,3mm shaft separately.

This project is by Aion Electronics, in collaboration with Musikding. If you have any problems with the contents of the kit, please contact Das Musikding (Klaus). Since the modifications require some basic knowledge, this project is rather for more experienced builders.

Muff variant with lots of tonal options

I read somewhere that the original circuit is based on a black russian version.
This circuit has three more controls : Pre, Mids and Focus ( pre-fuzz sub-low end control).

They are all very effective. Mids is a bit more subtle, it is more audible when the tone control is set in the second half of the rotation, or even fully CW.

It sounds amazing with a guitar or a bass. My first thought was to cut the mids, but it sounds better when they are slightly boosted, in my opinion.
I didnt change anything on my build, it sounds good as it is. I might add a clipping option in a near future, though.

Very versatile and high quality muff style fuzz, simple build with good instructions.

Sounds good, but limited instructions

As the title says, the kit work and sounds perfectly fine. Although I wouldnt recommend it for a first project as the instructions are not detailed.

Très bon

Lessentiel est déjà dit dans les autres commentaires. Cest très bon mais on reste sur un circuit type Big Muff : ce nest pas le plus malléable du monde...
