Description

The Ambassador is based on the Hotbox, which is a two-channel tube preamp/overdrive. The clean channel can work great as a warm clean boost, and the overdrive channel can go anywhere from a mild crunch to a creamy overdrive. Ambassador can be used either as an overdrive running into the front of your amp, or as a standalone preamp into a power amp, FOH, or interface.

This is a high-voltage circuit and requires special care in assembly, testing, and use!

This kit contains all parts you need to build a fully functional effect pedal. Two ECC83 tubes are included. Not included in the kit, but also good to have:

9V DC power supply
5 nice knobs for the potentiometer, up to 15mm diameter and for 6.3mm shafts
Decal, transfer or transparent sheets for labeling

Excellent kit, only missing the full bypass

Quality kit as expected, sounds excellent, it is a bit more involved, so you do have to have experience and do mind that this is a high-voltage one, so one has to be careful.
I do miss that it does not have the full bypass, i.e. the clean side remains always engaged - nothing that a simple DPDT switch cant remediate, so I may add this for convenience purposes. As with all Sushi box /C2C electronics kits - I recommend putting the tube(s) prior to the final insert of the PCB in the box - trust me on this! Another recommendation is a 12V power supply so the tube heaters can get an appropriate voltage (and it stabilizes the tube anode supply to 250V as well - it can get a bit close for the 250V rated 10uF capacitor, but it should last as the current is negligible).

Musikding service is immaculate as always. To be honest, there are no other kits on the market compiled with such attention (each resistor is hand labeled - individually!). I lost count of how many kits I have from Musikding already - top-notch.
