Description

The Bassdude is based on the Bassman preamp. Two ECC83 tubes provide a clean sound and also powerful overdrive.

This is a high-voltage circuit and requires special care in assembly, testing, and use!

Here is the parts list (BOM)

This kit is a creation by Sushi Box FX in cooperation with Musikding.de. This kit contains all parts you need to build a fully functional effect pedal. Two ECC83 tubes are included. Not included in the kit, but also good to have:

  • Aluminium enclosure: select one from top
  • 9V DC power supply
  • 4 nice knobs for the potentiometer, up to 15mm diameter and for 6.3mm shafts
  • Decal, transfer or transparent sheets for labeling

5 from 5 Best bass overdrive i have ever tried.

Very impressed with this project, i cant be happier.

Ive built various bass overdrives and distortions over the years, this one is simply the best.

The two-band tonestack is very effective, we can dial many different colors from these two controls.

The gain texture is amazingly good, we can fully enjoy the warmth and roundness from the tubes.
With the Gain knob set at max value, we are in the bass distortion zone.

We can dial sounds from clean to crunchy in the first half of the gain control rotation, and from overdrive to distortion in the second half of the rotation.

The project itself is not the easiest because of the high voltages (if you need to troubleshoot a circuit with 170V or 200V running inside it, it can be dangerous) and because of the tube daughterboards connectors that can be tricky to solder correctly when we are not used to soldering components. Soldering these connectors require some precision.

Although, for experienced builders its quite an easy and straightforward build. Higly recommended.

All my thanks to SushiBox and Musikding !
