ElectroVibe kit

This is the PedalPCB circuit board with a parts kit assembled by MusikDing. The board is well laid out with the component values printed on the board. The kit is an analogue Univibe guitar effect similar to the original Shin-Ei. It has a pulsating lamp with four photo resistors to create a warm lush effect. The parts kit cost is less than that charged by Mouser so well done to Klaus for that. Building tips can be obtained from pedalPCB forum which also has a useful list of modifications compiled by @BigMonk which are useful to obtain improved tone. Chief among these mods is the Unity gain mod to increase volume (R4 --> 5 mega ohms.) The beauty of this kit is that it comes with a LT1054 charge pump so that the effect pedal can be operated by the same isolated 9 volt DC power supply common to many pedal racks. This supply is boosted to 18 volts by the pump and then regulated. (Other kits require 18-24 volt DC PSU). The enclosure is tight. The 1590BBS would be better than the 1590BB but everything should fit into the BB just about. I socketed the transistors to avoid heat damage and I got everything into the 1590BB. I opted for the drilled enclosure from MusikDing to save some work. Remember to use pot covers to avoid short circuits and dont mix up the 47K resistors with the 4k7 ones like I did. This is a challenging kit to build, not for beginners, but it is very rewarding. There are two daughter boards supplied that connect to the stomp switches. Two speed pots are supplied for easy rate changing during live performances. Pedal PCB also sells an attractive faceplate to complement the kit. Recommended product.
