Description

The Simulcast is a transformer-coupled, discrete Class-A Germanium preamp based on the classic mixing consoles of the transmitter systems of the 1960s. In the low-gain setting, the Simulcast covers everything from clean boost to transparent overdrive. In the mid-gain setting, the Simulcast begins to saturate the transformer, resulting in a light and dynamic compression with a slight thickening of the midrange. With the Gigh-Gain setting, the Simulcast delivers distorted sounds with a warm and fuzzy note.

This kit contains the PCB and all necessary parts. The enclosure can be selected, please select 3 knobs for 6.3mm shaft seperately.

5 from 5 Killer sound, great alternative to a normal overdrive

Oh man, this thing is amazing!
Easy to build and no big hurdles, only small problem is the tight spacing on the caps which other reviews have mentioned but nothing serious.
Really awesome sound and I am defo keeping it on the board, strangely I have a three pole switch on mine while the Hudson Broadcast this is based on only has two, I dont really know what the extra position does but for my ears from top to bottom it goes overdrive then boost then fuzzy distortion, its killer and Im seriously considering either building another or getting the dual footswitch version so I can kick in the extra gain rather than reaching down and switching a knob, cant recommend this enough!

5 from 5 Easy

Clear as day to see what to do . Nice!
My thougth to be as clean headroom feature . should work for many aplications due to transformator that isolates the noise.
Kinda noise gate in it as well. Thats the fixtures , Cool kit!

4 from 5 Simulcast - everything sounds better!

Very good kit with quality components.Easy to mount.
Only one little problem with placing electrolytic capacitors in small space. They fit, but in very unstraight way. Inspite of that, overal good kit.
About sound.
Very plasant sound, seems like everything become more defined, nice clean, nice fuzz, nice crunch. Lowcut is also very useful, it take away all boominess from guitar or bass.
Sound beautifull with guitar and also with bass. I like it front of all pedals, nice tone shaper.
I have a lot of pedals and this one, for sure one of the best.
Soundwise 5 stars
